If so, you may be qualified to become a STEM Teach Fellow and recieve up to $1,000 in stipend support while pursuing your teaching credential at Cal Poly. See below for more information. Questions? Visit the CESaME Office in building 52-E16.

 

STEM Teach Preliminary Level Description

Preliminary STEM Teach Fellow:
Complete all of the following:
Complete one of the following:
Benefits of being a Preliminary Fellow:
Be a math, science or engineering major
Attend Muir Hall BBQ
Network with faculty and peers
Maintain a 2.75 GPA or higher
Attend networking meeting*
$100 stipend
Meet with credential advisor
Participate in Super Science Saturday
Adds to your resume
Complete LIVESCAN
Participate in Edward Teller Symposium
Pass CBEST
Other*

STEM Teach Associate Level Description

Associate STEM Teach Fellow:
Complete all of the following:
Complete one of the following:
Benefits of being a Preliminary Fellow:
Complete 45 hours early field experience: EDUC/SCM 300 or TAP or other
Apply to Noyce Program (visit CESaME office)
$250 Stipend
Complete KINE 250 (or equivalent)
Apply to APLE (visit Financial Aid Department)
Great opportunities to advance your teaching career
Complete STEP I course requirements: US Gov't/Speaking/Writing
Apply to STAR Program (visit CESaME office)
Maintain 2.75 GPA (undergraduate)
Help facilitate the Muir Hall BBQ
Pass CSETs or complete waiver program
Volunteer at Open House"
Be enrolled in credential program
Take SCM 302

Full STEM Teach Fellow:

$500 Stipend for Student Teaching (P/T or F/T student teaching)
Begin Student Teaching

Be a Learn By Doing Lab (LBDL) Alumnus
