Cal Poly Modeling Series 2016

Cal Poly University’s Center for Excellence in STEM Education (CESAME), Western Regional Noyce Initiative (WRNI), and the Teacher Quality Partnership Grant (TQP) are pleased to offer two concurrent, two-week professional development courses this summer in chemistry and physics.

These workshops are structured inquiry approaches to high school physics and chemistry teaching that incorporate computer technology and insights from THE Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standard and current education research.

Registration Cost

Through April 1st: $300
April 2 - May 31st: $350 REGISTRATION CLOSES JUNE 1, 2016.

San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara County High School teachers
•Selected Noyce Scholars/Alumni


This Modeling series is funded by two federal grants:

•USDE: CCP-Teacher Quality Partnership Grant (TQP)
•Western Regional Noyce Initiative (WRNI)

TQP and WRNI are providing funding that allows us to waive the registration cost for local teachers and selected Noyce scholars and alumni. In addition, WRNI has provided funding to support a limited number of Noyce participants. Noyce scholars will be notified if they are selected, and will be given instructions regarding the funds available to assist them.
